I came to school on Monday morning as usual, took my books from my locker and started walking towards the classroom. What did I see? Everyone was waiting outside the classroom door! I immediately asked my friend Ecem: “Why are you waiting outside the door?”

Ecem replied: “There is a kangaroo in our classroom and it is with its baby.” I was shocked at that moment. It must be a joke. I got the courage up and opened the door. While I was opening it, my friends yelled: “No Defne! Don’t open the door!” But I didn’t care and opened the door. I couldn’t believe my eyes. The mother kangaroo was sitting on the desk and her baby was jumping around. The mother kangaroo was screaming harshly. Then suddenly she looked at me and I was about to faint in fear. But fortunately, nothing happened. She continued to watch her baby. When the teacher on duty shouted: “Come on kids go to your class!” Everyone had to enter the classroom. The baby and its mother were scared of us. But of course, we were scared, too. Strangely the mother kangaroo took its baby and jumped from the window to the fire escape with eyes full of fear. She was looking at us and we were looking at her. She entered the classroom again in a very strange way. At that moment, Kamile teacher came. As soon as she entered, Kamile teacher was also surprised and said: “What is the animal doing here?” Berra said: “There is something strange about the animal. It goes in and out of the fire escape.” Kamile teacher called the firemen after listening to us. They came and took the kangaroo. They told us that the kangaroo was the gift of the president of Australia and it ran away. The kangaroo was acting like that because it was very scared. Anyway, we asked about the baby. He said: “It is healthy but still frightened.” The firemen thanked and they went away. We continued our lessons.
